With Your Help, We’ve Made Real Progress...
Through its fundraising work, and through its Annual Banquet and Conservation Fundraiser, the Prince William County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited (DU) has raised thousands of dollars for wildlife and habitat conservation. Northern Virginia has benefitted from this work receiving funding for two wetland protection projects, 58 wetland enhancement and restoration projects, two upland protection programs and 55 upland enhancement and restoration projects. In addition, DU funding in Virginia has protected and preserved 8,659 acres and restored or enhanced over 30,000 acres of endangered wildlife and waterfowl habitat.
Since its founding in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved over 11 million acres of critical wildlife habitat across North America. Wetlands are nature’s most productive ecosystems, but America has lost more than half of its original wetlands and continues to lose more than 80,000 acres every year. Approximately 87% of Ducks Unlimited expenditures were converted directly into habitat conservation work.
